Overview

Decktopus AI generates complete, ready to present decks from a short description, structure, content, and design included, so users can focus on what they want to say rather than laying out slides by hand. It can pull brand elements straight from a company website to keep colors, fonts, logos, and layout consistent across a whole presentation, and includes AI delivery coaching that gives real-time feedback while presenting.

I helped design the flow for the new AI-enabled user flow, from a description in, to a structured deck out, and implemented it on the frontend.

The interesting challenge was wiring that flow to the backend and the AI generation progress itself: multi-step, long-running requests where the outline, then each slide, arrives asynchronously, all while keeping the UI responsive. Error handling and state management across those steps, plus request interceptors to manage auth and retries consistently, were the hard part, and genuinely fun to build.
